PRD Deploys 50 Public Relations Volunteers to Assist the Public Attending the Ceremony
25 October 2017

The Government Public Relations Department, or PRD, is deploying 50 public relations volunteers to assist the members of the public who come to witness the Royal Processions along Sanam Luang ceremonial ground on 26 and 27 October 2017. They will recommend the practical guidelines for the public on showing respect to His Majesty the King and members of the Royal Family in an appropriate and coordinated manner. These PR volunteers will also provide the public with information regarding the significance of each procession, as well as the nearest medical or other facilities.

Today (25 October 2017), at the Main Press Center for the Royal Cremation of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, the Joint Administration Center for the Royal Cremation of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej organized a press briefing on the topic of “Preparations for the Royal Cremation Ceremony, Facilitation Services and Regulation and Etiquette for Attending the Ceremony,” highlighting practical guidelines for persons attending the ceremony, as a huge crowd has been waiting in the queue at the screening points, hoping to get the closest position at Sanam Luang ceremonial ground.

Mr. Pornpitak Maensiri, PRD Senior Specialist for Public Relations, said that the major concern of the Government at the moment is the people’s health and well-being. Although there will be medical service centers as well as first-aid services provided to the general public, it is advised that those with illnesses, the elderly, and children should carry a name tag and any necessary medicine. The public are also encouraged to have enough sleep, drink sufficient water, and bring snacks and drinking water with them.
