29 October 2017

The Government has thanked the Thai people and members of the world community for the great honor they accorded His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej during the Royal Cremation Ceremony, from 25-29 October 2017.

Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha said that the loyalty shown by the people during the Royal Cremation Ceremony was historic and would be remembered forever.

He said that the 70-year reign of His Majesty the late King has ended and that the people should change sadness into a powerful force in order to maintain the country’s prosperity and development in response to the wishes of His Majesty the late King.

29 October is the last day of the Royal Cremation Ceremony for His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej. The mourning period for government officials and state enterprise employees will end on 29 October 2017 at midnight.

His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej sought ways to help people through his years of in-depth studies and experimentation. He would then develop models for other people to use and adapt to suit their respective areas. He also offered assistance to the people in specific areas through more than 4,000 projects.

It is clear that the nation will continue to grow in many directions, building on the foundation laid by His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, who will always be deeply revered by the people of the Kingdom of Thailand and people around the world.
