The Royal Cremation for His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej is scheduled for 25-29 October 2017. Thursday, 26 October, will be the royal cremation day and it has been declared a public holiday.

The Senate of the United States of America passed a resolution on "Honoring in praise and remembrance the extraordinary life, steady leadership, and remarkable, 70-year reign of King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand."

The Royal Command has designated 5 December each year a national significant day. The Cabinet on 7 February 2017 acknowledged the countersigning of the Royal Command in an announcement of the Prime Minister’s Office.

His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej invented many devices with appropriate technology to improve the people’s living conditions and the environment. He became the world’s first monarch to apply for, and be granted, a patent for his own invention.

Major merit-making ceremonies are being held in various parts of the country on 20-21 January 2017 to mark the 100th day since the passing of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, Rama IX.
